Makeup artist in Zugdidi
Zugdidi is about 320 km from Tbilisi — five hours by road on a good day. At that distance nothing is spontaneous: the artist travels the day before, the schedule is fixed in advance, and a Zugdidi booking is planned more like a small trip than like an appointment.

What 320 km actually means
Five hours each way rules out a same-day return in any form. Even an afternoon event requires arriving the previous day, because a morning that begins with a five-hour drive is a morning with no margin in it.
So the quote for Zugdidi includes travel and an overnight stay, both stated before you book. There is no version of this trip where those are avoidable, and pretending otherwise would just move the problem to the day itself.
The upside of planning it properly is that the day is then genuinely unhurried. The artist is in Zugdidi the evening before, the start time is whatever the event needs, and the drive has already happened.
Samegrelo air is wet
Samegrelo is one of the wettest regions in Georgia, and humidity behaves differently from heat. In humid air, skin releases more moisture and the base travels with it — the same makeup that holds ten hours in Tbilisi can start moving within two or three on the coast.
The adjustment is made before anything is applied: humidity-resistant formulas rather than standard ones, fewer cream products, and a base set more firmly than it would be inland.
Rain is the other half of it. Zugdidi gets rain in every month of the year, and an outdoor ceremony here needs a genuine wet-weather plan rather than optimism — which also means waterproof mascara regardless of what else is decided.
Where Zugdidi bookings actually go
Zugdidi is a junction as much as a destination. It is the last city before the Svaneti road, and roughly forty minutes from the coast at Anaklia and Ganmukhuri.
Weddings in the area frequently split across those: preparation in Zugdidi, a ceremony at the coast, photographs somewhere else entirely. Each leg is a car journey with finished makeup in it, and that decides how firmly the base is set.
For anything continuing up towards Mestia, say so at the booking. The mountain road is a different proposition again, and it is planned as a separate leg rather than assumed.
- Zugdidi itself — preparation, church ceremonies, family events
- Anaklia and Ganmukhuri — about forty minutes, coastal humidity and wind
- The Svaneti road — planned separately, not an extension of the day
- Dadiani palace grounds — a common photography location, open and exposed
Group bookings make the trip work
Because the travel is substantial and it is the same whether one person or five people are having makeup, Zugdidi bookings are usually groups — the bride, her mother, sisters, bridesmaids.
The travel fee is quoted once for the trip, not once per person. That is the single biggest thing you can do to make the arithmetic work in your favour, and it is why deciding early who wants makeup matters more here than anywhere closer.
Allow an hour per person and count backwards from the ceremony. Five people is five hours, which on a wedding morning means starting before six.
Price and booking
Makeup starts at 150 GEL. Travel and the overnight stay are quoted separately and exactly before you book, and neither changes afterwards.
Write early — earlier than for anywhere else on this site. A Zugdidi date takes two days out of a week, so it cannot be fitted around other bookings at short notice.
Send the date, the venue, the ceremony time and the number of people. If part of the day is at the coast or heading towards Svaneti, say that in the first message; it changes both the products and the schedule.
Frequently asked questions
- How far is Zugdidi from Tbilisi?
- About 320 km, roughly five hours by road. The artist travels the day before — a same-day return is not possible at this distance.
- Does the humidity in Samegrelo affect makeup?
- Yes, noticeably. In humid air the base travels with the moisture the skin releases. Humidity-resistant formulas and a firmer set are chosen from the start.
- Can you also travel to Anaklia or Svaneti?
- Anaklia is about forty minutes from Zugdidi and is a normal extension. The Svaneti road is planned as a separate leg and must be mentioned at booking.
- Is the travel fee per person?
- No, it is quoted once for the trip. That is why group bookings make the arithmetic work — and why it is worth deciding early who wants makeup.
