Tbilisi is long and narrow, and traffic through the centre in the evening is particularly slow. The journey from a salon to a venue frequently takes forty to fifty minutes — and that is the exact window in which makeup gets undone by heat, wind and touching your face.

When the artist travels instead, that window does not exist. The makeup is finished in the place you walk out of.

A large share of English-language bookings are in hotels and rented flats in the centre, and both share one technical problem: the bathroom light is warm and dim, and unusable for makeup.

So we bring our own lighting rather than relying on the room. It is worth knowing when you book which room you will be in — a flat with a window facing a courtyard and one facing the street are different starting points.

Summer in Tbilisi regularly passes 35°C and the air is dry. That is a different condition for a base than Batumi's humid heat: in dry heat skin loses moisture faster and base settles into fine lines.

In winter the reverse applies — heated rooms are very dry while it is cold outside. That alternation makes preparing the skin more important than the choice of base itself.

Everything from the first message to the appointment itself runs in English if you prefer. You do not need a word of Georgian to book, to explain what you want, or to ask a question on the day.

That extends to the practical parts: the quote, the travel fee if any, and the schedule all arrive in writing in your language before anything is agreed.

A few days' notice is usually enough. The exceptions are wedding dates in September and October and 31 December, which fill months ahead.
