Makeup artist in Mestia
Mestia is in Svaneti, at around 1,500 metres. By road it is 450 km and up to eight hours from Tbilisi — but there is a second option: a scheduled flight from Natakhtari to Mestia takes about ninety minutes. Which one you choose shapes the whole day.

Eight hours by road, ninety minutes by air
The road takes up to eight hours and climbs into the mountains after Zugdidi. The flight is far quicker but weather-dependent: Mestia's airport is in the mountains and a service can be cancelled.
So Mestia is planned with both at once — a booked flight and a road fallback. If the flight is cancelled, we still arrive before the day of the ceremony.
1,500 metres and dry mountain air
Svan air is dry and ultraviolet is stronger than at sea level. Skin registers it within a few hours, first on the lips, then around the eyes.
Preparation begins with skincare and hydration and only then moves to base. The base goes on without a high SPF so it does not flash back white in photographs; sun protection is applied separately.
Svan towers and a stone background
Photography in Mestia happens at the towers and the stone houses. The background is dark and cool in tone, while mountain light is strong and hard.
Fair skin reads bright against dark stone and shadows fall harder than they do indoors. So contouring is softened: what looks moderate in a mirror comes out pronounced beside a tower.
Overnight stays and seasons
An overnight stay is always required in Mestia, whichever way we travel. For a morning ceremony it is usually two nights.
There are two seasons: summer for hiking and weddings, winter for skiing. In winter both the road and the flight are less reliable, and that is planned for in advance.
Price and booking
Makeup starts at 150 GEL. Travel to Mestia and the overnight stays are quoted separately and stated before you commit — this is the furthest destination we work, and the cost is itemised openly.
Send the date, the ceremony time and the number of people as early as you can; flights are booked well ahead.
Frequently asked questions
- How do you get to Mestia?
- Two ways: roughly 450 km and up to eight hours by road, or about ninety minutes on the scheduled flight from Natakhtari. We plan both, because the flight depends on the weather.
- What if the flight is cancelled?
- That is why a road fallback is always in the plan. We arrive before the day of the ceremony either way.
- Is an overnight stay required?
- Always. For a morning ceremony it is usually two nights, and that is included in the quote up front.
- What do the towers change for the makeup?
- Dark stone and hard mountain light make shadows fall more sharply than a mirror suggests, so contouring is softened.
