Makeup artist in Kvareli

Kvareli is in northern Kakheti, roughly 150 km and two and a half hours from Tbilisi. Weddings here happen beside the lake and inside wine tunnels cut into the rock, and those two settings create a problem you will not meet anywhere else in Georgia.

Fourteen degrees inside, thirty outside

The wine tunnels hold around fourteen degrees all year — that is precisely why they were cut into the rock. In summer it is above thirty outside.

When guests move between the two, condensation forms on the skin, exactly as it does on a cold glass. Ordinary base does not survive that moment. In Kvareli the base is built for the transition and setting is done in two stages.

A Kvareli wedding often covers three settings — the lake, a tunnel and the banquet hall — each with a different temperature and a different light. So we need the full route at the start of the day, not only the ceremony time.

The lake, the Caucasus and evening humidity

The Caucasus ridge is visible across Kvareli lake, and most photography happens there. Close to the water, humidity rises in the evening.

That makes the hour of the ceremony matter more than the date. Send the exact time — the preparation schedule is counted backwards from it.

Two and a half hours, two possible roads

There are two routes: through Telavi over the Gombori Pass, or via Sagarejo. Both take roughly two and a half hours; the pass is shorter in kilometres and slower in time.

If several people need to be ready by eight in the morning, arriving the previous evening is more reliable than leaving Tbilisi before dawn.

Harvest season

September and October are the grape harvest. The cellars host weddings through those months and Saturdays are frequently taken six months ahead.

Outside that window, dates are usually open. For autumn, write as soon as the venue is booked.

Price and booking

Makeup starts at 150 GEL, with travel quoted separately.

Send the date, the ceremony time, the venues and the number of people — you will get one total and a schedule.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the drive to Kvareli?
Two and a half hours, roughly 150 km. Both routes — over Gombori and via Sagarejo — take about the same time.
The ceremony is inside a wine tunnel. Will the makeup hold?
Yes, if we know in advance. The tunnels sit at around fourteen degrees while summer outside is above thirty, and that transition puts condensation on the skin, so base and setting are built specifically for it.
Does the lake affect anything?
Humidity rises near the water in the evening. That is why we need the exact ceremony time — the preparation schedule is counted backwards from it.
Can we get a date during harvest season?
September and October are the busiest months and Saturdays often go six months ahead. Write as soon as the venue is booked.
