Photoshoot makeup is built for a lens, not for a room. Flash flattens skin texture and lifts the tone, so makeup that looks correct in person often disappears in the file — and correctly built shoot makeup looks slightly heavier than usual when you are standing next to it.

What flash does to a face
Flash fires straight at you from a single point. It fills in the shadows that give a face its shape, and the result is flat and uniform.
The work goes against that, on the places where the face has structure: the cheekbone, the jawline, the sides of the nose. That is precisely why shoot makeup looks more contrasted in person than everyday makeup does.
Highlighter and shimmer, carefully
Whatever gives a beautiful glow in a room frequently reads as oily skin under flash. It is the most common error in makeup for photography.
If the shoot is in natural light, the reverse applies: a mattifying product makes the face look dead. So the first question is always whether it is a studio or outdoors, and at what time of day.
The type of shoot changes everything
The single word "photoshoot" hides completely different technical problems.
- Portrait — texture stays visible, base is minimal
- Business headshot — neutral, and built to stay usable for years
- Family — natural enough not to look made up beside the children
- Editorial or commercial — heavy and stylised on purpose
- Wedding coverage — endurance and consistency across a whole day of frames
Where we meet
The artist comes to the studio, to your home, or straight to the location. Coming to the location is particularly worth it for outdoor shoots: wind and heat change the makeup on the way there, and correcting on site beats redoing on arrival.

Frequently asked questions
- My photographer says the makeup is too heavy. Is he right?
- Usually it is a misunderstanding: shoot makeup judged in the room genuinely does look heavier. The honest test is one frame under the actual lighting — the screen settles it in seconds.
- Will you stay to touch up during the shoot?
- If it is agreed in advance, yes. On a long shoot, especially outdoors, the touch-ups often matter more than the original application.
- Does anything change for black and white?
- Yes, considerably. In black and white colour disappears and only contrast survives, so the weight moves to the brow, the lashes and the density of the lip rather than its shade.
- How much does photoshoot makeup cost?
- From 150 GEL. If the shoot runs several hours and needs touch-ups, that is agreed beforehand and reflected in the price — never partway through the day.
