Why light makeup is harder
In evening makeup, one layer covers the last one. In daylight every layer is visible on its own — and natural light is unforgiving about the border at the jaw, powder settled into pores, and a tone half a shade too dark.
So everyday makeup is not measured by how much product is used. It is measured by how precisely the little that is there has been placed.
What is done and what is left out
An everyday face is built by subtraction rather than addition.
- Evening the tone where it needs it — not across the whole face
- Strengthening the brow rather than redrawing it
- Colour on cheeks and lips in one temperature
- Working at the lash line rather than over the whole lid
- Leaving skin texture alone — texture is what reads as real
Office, study and video calls
All three mean a face seen for hours, close up, mostly under artificial light. Office fluorescent light is cold and kills warm pink, so blush is chosen a step deeper than it would be for a window.
Video calls have a rule of their own: luminous texture reads as grease through a camera. It is the only case where even an everyday face needs a mattifying layer.
One appointment, or learning it
Everyday makeup is the category where learning it usually beats booking it. A single appointment makes sense when there is a specific day: an interview, a presentation, a first day at work.
If it is a daily question, the course for doing your own makeup is the better answer. It is taught on your face, and what you keep is the skill rather than one morning's result.
Frequently asked questions
- Will anyone even see it, if it is that light?
- They will, but not as makeup. A daytime face done properly gets you "you look well" rather than "nice makeup", which is the entire objective.
- How long does it last?
- A daytime face fades sooner than an evening one because there are fewer layers. If you need it to hold a full working day, say so and the base is chosen for that.
- Can you use my own products?
- Yes. Everyday makeup is exactly the case where that makes sense — you see immediately what you can reproduce with what is already at home.
- How much is it?
- From 150 GEL. Outside Tbilisi a travel fee applies, calculated by distance and quoted before you book.
