September and October are the peak. May and early June are the second peak — everything is green and it is not yet hot.
July and August in Tbilisi regularly pass 35°C, which makes an outdoor ceremony genuinely difficult. If you are planning a summer date, the logistics have to be built around keeping guests in shade during the hottest hours, not around the photographs.
The region decides more than the backdrop
In Georgia the choice of region changes the entire logistics of the day, not just what is behind you in the photographs.
- Tbilisi — the simplest logistics, and guests are already there
- Kakheti — the wine region, best in autumn, but guests need to stay overnight
- Mtskheta — historic churches, 20 km from Tbilisi, workable as a single day
- Batumi — the sea, a summer season, 370 km from Tbilisi
- The mountains — spectacular, and entirely dependent on the weather
What people work out too late
Three things almost always surface late in the planning, and all three affect the timing of the day itself.
First, how long the travel between locations actually takes. Second, where and when the bride changes if there are two dresses. Third, who does hair and makeup for the people who will be standing beside her in every photograph — her mother, her sisters, her bridesmaids. That last one regularly gets settled in the final fortnight.
Realistic timing
A Georgian wedding is long — frequently twelve hours or more, with a large guest list by most countries' standards. That directly shapes how the morning is planned.
The practical rule is that the schedule is written backwards from the ceremony hour, with one free interval left in it. That interval always gets used — not because anyone is careless, but because fifty variables cannot all run exactly to time.
Where makeup fits into this
Hair and makeup are the first item of the day and the only one that cannot be compressed without losing quality.
If the wedding is outside Tbilisi, travel has to be counted: the artist either comes the day before or starts very early. We work on location in eight cities and across the Kakheti region, with the travel fee based on distance and quoted before you book.
