The modern direction means luminous skin and minimal colour — the emphasis is on texture rather than shade. It suits minimalist dresses and contemporary venues.

One technical warning applies: luminous skin can read as oily under flash. If the photographer works with flash, that glow is achieved through technique rather than through a shimmering product.
