The main rule for summer makeup runs against instinct: less product lasts longer. A heavy base moves faster in heat, because there is more mass for perspiration to carry with it.

What changes from winter
Summer makeup differs from winter mainly by subtraction. The base gets thinner, cream products are replaced with powder ones, and luminous textures are reduced.
The one addition is waterproof mascara. In summer it stops being a preference: an ordinary formula transfers onto the lower lid within an hour once perspiration is involved.
Sunscreen and makeup
Sunscreen goes before base and needs ten to fifteen minutes to absorb. If base goes on sooner, the two mix and the result goes patchy.
There is a separate photographic issue: some sunscreens cast a white tone under flash. If there will be a photographer, that is worth checking with one test frame beforehand.
The coast and humidity
In Batumi and western Georgia humidity is what defeats a base, and it needs a different approach from dry heat.
In humid air skin releases more moisture and product travels with it. The answer there is humidity-resistant formulas and fewer cream layers — not more powder, which is the instinctive and wrong response.
The minimum summer routine
On a hot day four products are enough, and the result looks better than a full base would.
- Sunscreen — and ten minutes
- Local correction only where it is needed
- Brow and waterproof mascara
- Powder blush or a lip product
Touching up in heat
Touching up in summer means removing oil and perspiration, not adding a layer. Powder over perspiration creates patches.
The correct order is: tissue, wait a minute, then minimal powder on that area only. Those two steps carry a face through a whole hot day.
